so far behind and hair update

I'm so far behind in scrapping. I just can't seem to sit down on the weekends! Too much to do, not alot of time and October is a really busy month. Hope to get back to normal soon.............*finally a hair change. I received my brazilian hair about 2 weeks ago and finally sewed it in this weekend. I'm loving the hair so far and the texture of it. It blends extremely well with my hair.  The only issue I'm having right now is frizziness.  I used flexi rods on the hair and slept in them to achieve this look.

I decided to play around with some makeup looks yesterday and I went to my closet for some inspiration and grabbed this floral dress and ran with the purples. I think I found a new favorite color!

For the look:  Face: MAC: Studio Fix Fluid in NW45, Select Coverup concealer in NW40, Mineralize SF in Deep Dark. MUForever HD translucent powder (under the eyes)

Eyes: MAC: Stud eyebrow pencil, Studio Finish Concealer in NW45 (SPF35 for under brows & base for eyeshadow) Milani: Baked Eyeshadow in Purrr-Fect Purple as base. MAC Stars-N-Rockets on top of the Milani shadow. Sugar Pill: poison plum eyeshadow (outter V), MAC Texture eyeshadow for crease color, MAC Bisque for brow bone highlight. Ardell lashes put on with DUO (you can find at Walgreens).

Lips: MAC courting lilac lipstick (LE) and Revlon lipgloss in lilac pastelle

I felt like having the blues this weekend.

Eyes: NW45 studio concealer to prime my eyes, NYX jumbo pencil in milk as a base. MAC Surf Baby (on the inner lid/tear duct area), Electric Eel (lid color), Deep Truth (outter lid/V). I followed the same colors on my lower lid.  MAC Saddle as my crease color and MAC Ricepaper as my brow bone highligh. Jordana pencil liner and Maybelline Great Lash mascara in blackest black. I used Sephora black eyeliner on my outter water line and Jordana silver glitter rocks on my inner water line.

Face: Ambi Even & Clear moisturizer w/SPF30. Milk of Magnesia in my T-zone to control oil. MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NW45, Select Cover-up in NW40 (as a highlight for my cheeks & underneath my eyes), MSF (mineralize skin finish) in Deep Dark (I think) and Make-Up forever HD translucent powder.

Cheeks: MAC Surf Baby Powder and NARS Albatross as a highlight

Lips: Cork lip pencil, fresh brew lipstick & Viva Glam Gaga 2 lipgloss

 
We had a really good weekend. I didn't get any scrapping done but I'm hoping to work on a project using my SC kit Paper Moon. The kit this month was more geared towards little boys but I'm hoping to put that to use.

Once again my hair has gone thru another change! Change is good right? LOL! I absolutley love my La'Bella Couture earrings! I have another pair and they are truly the talk of the night. I have nothing on my face and on my lips is MAC Currant lip pencil and Up the Amp lipstick (which is my fav pink). Love how Aniyah made it into my photo!

Mother's Day was awesome and I'll post some pics on that later this week.  I love Tina's blog and how she does a post on currents, so I'm joining in.

hair change

 
I can't ever keep my hair the same! LOL! It goes thru changes but I do love it short.  I kept the make-up simple this weekend. I used my MAC studio fix powder in NW45, select moisture concealer for under my eyes in NW40 and MSF in Dark to set it.  I did a light contour of Blunt and Format on my cheeks and about 3 sprays of Fix+.  I kept the eyes simple with just liner and falsies (my fav pair from Kiss) and for my lips I have on Lady Gaga II with the lipglass and Cork liner.  This is my normal look minus the bold falsies for work.  I may go one or two days out the week with no foundation just to allow my face to breathe but I definitely know that my skin can't take full coverage with Studio Fix Fluid. It breaks my skin out.

On a sadder note, my heart throbs for Japan right now in the midst of the earthquakese, tsunami's and now the nuclear threats. I lived there from 1997-2000 and I still have family and friends there, all of whom are safe. I can't believe all the pictures that I've seen and videos that I've watched of the damage. They are a very strong country and I know that they will thrive and bounce back. I will continue to keep them in my prayers and asks that everyone do the same. <3 Japan!

I can't believe that it's already March. Time is definitely moving by. This is currently how I store my make-up. I don't have much but I tend to get certain things and stick to them. I'm starting to try more brands of make-up now although MAC will be my most fav. There has been some drugstore brands that have truly impressed me lately. Anywho, I got this "filing cabinet/drawers" from Ikea. I initially got it to add to my scrap room but I thought it would be perfect in my bathroom to store my make-up in.  The container on top stores my brushes. I don't have many of them but I'm slowly starting to buy more. It is a combination of some MAC and Sigma brushes.

 
 
 

This first drawer is for my face products (foundations, primers, fix+, concealers and skinfinishes). I think I have my brush cleaner in there as well. I love MAC packaging so I tend to keep everything in it's originial boxes.

 
 
This second drawer is for my MAC eyeshadows, pigments, blushes and some NYX eyeshadows.

 
 
 

This third drawer has all my other eye products. It has my primers, NYX jumbo pencils, lashes, mascara, q-tips, duo, eyebrow products.

 
 
This drawer holds my lippies. I organize it all the time and once I open it, everything falls and shifts.

 
 
This drawer holds all my other eyeshadows, mostly my drugstore shadows. I definitely need to use these more often. The last drawer holds my 120 palette and some ELF compacts.  I am usually very neutral M-F for work. I keep it really simple with foundation, masacara, liner and my neutral lip. I rarely use eyeshadows for work. I save all those looks for the weekend.  My hope is that I will start showing more pics of me "made up" on the weekends when we are out and about.

Can't wait for my scrap kits to arrive this month. I plan to pick up a few more things from MAC to continue building my collection and hopefully I can start posting some videos in the near future.

 

Changes to my Blog

Finally decided to change my blog and do something different that incorporates more of me and the things I love, hence a name change to "scrap.fashion.makeup.hair". I don't know how much of my blog will be dedicated to each and it's in no particular order but all of which I absolutely love. I've been playing around with different typepad designs and some are ok but it's been hard trying to select one because either I don't like the colors or not enough designs within one particular theme to choose from. While I like what's up now, it's being used by one of my most fav bloggers and I don't want to duplicate her theme so I'll keep playing.
